European workshop in open systems (EWOS)

Als Koordinierungsgruppe und Brennpunkt der europäischen OSI- Aktivitäten wurde die European Workshop in Open Systems (EWOS) ins Leben gerufen.

Die Gruppe agiert unter dem Schirm der europäischen Standardisierungsinstitute CEN/ CENELEC. Weiter sind vertreten: Die Standards Promotion and Application Group ( SPAG), European Computer Manufacturers Association ( ECMA), OSI Technical Office Protocol (OSITOP), Réseaux Associés pour la Recherche Européen ( RARE), Cooperation for OSI Networking in Europe ( COSINE) und die European MAP User Group (EMUG). EWOS versteht sich u.a. als europäisches Gegenstück zum National Bureau of Standards ( NBS) und arbeitet mit NBS und ähnlichen Organisationen wie der Promotion for Open Systems Interconnection (POSI) in Japan eng zusammen.
