100 giga 10 lanes pluggable (CXP)

CXP modules are extremely compact transceiver modules for 100 Gigabit and 10 lanes. 100GbE interfaces are implemented in the pluggable modules, namely 100GBase-CR10 and 100GBase-SR10. They are also used in the Infiniband.

The former is a GbE interface for twinaxial cables, the latter works with multimode fibers. The data streams run over ten parallel lanes at 10 Gbit/s each and are multiplexed in the transceivers. CXP modules have a small form factor and are slightly larger than XFP modules for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. They can be installed with high port density and are mainly used in data centers.
