2K standard
The term 2K standard is a designation of the Digital Cinema Initiative( DCI). 2K is equivalent to 2,000 and stands for a graphic resolution ofdigital TV and digital cinematography.
Due to the different aspect ratios, the horizontal resolution values can be above or below the 2,000 pixel horizontal resolution. For the 2K standard, the horizontal resolution for video and high-definition television in the high-definition mode is 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio. For D-Cinema, it is 2,048 x 1,080 pixels with a 17:9 aspect ratio.
The next highest resolution standard is 4K, which corresponds to 4,000 horizontal pixels. This display format, known as Ultra- HD, is available in normal resolution of 4,320 pixels. The next highest resolution is the 5K standard, whose displays have a resolution of 5,120 x 2,880 pixels.
In the Extremely High-Resolution Imageries( EHRI) resolution, it has a horizontal resolution of 7,680 pixels and thus corresponds to the 8K standard.
