ACR decrease time factor (ATM) (ADTF)

The ACR Decrease Time Factor (ADTF) is the time allowed to elapse when sending resource management ( RM) cells in an ATM network before the data rate is reduced to the initial cell rate ( ICR).

The time range for the ACR Decrease Time Factor (ADTF) is between 0.01 s and 10.23 s with a resolution of 10 ms. For Available Bit Rate( ABR) traffic, the ACR Decrease Time Factor sets the Allowed Cell Rate (ACR) time. This value influences the calculation of the Round Trip Time( RTT) of TCP and thus has a direct influence on the data throughput of the TCP protocol.
