AppleTalk data stream protocol (ADSP)

The AppleTalk Data Stream Protocol (ADSP) is an application protocol that resides at the application layer.

The ADSP protocol is used to establish duplex connections for byte-oriented stream service between sockets. It is a symmetric, connection-oriented protocol with flow control and guaranteed data delivery. The ADSP protocol can be used to establish reliable transmission channels across the network. Two computers can communicate in both directions over this virtual data link. ADSP is located on the communication control layer of the OSI reference model.
