Base64 code (Base64)

Base64 is a truncated ASCII character set consisting of 64 letters, digits and special characters and is a subset of the ASCII character set.

Base64 is used for encoding binary data for e-mail transmission. The total character set includes the 26 uppercase letters from "A" to "Z", the 26 lowercase letters "a" to "z", the ten digits from "0" to "9", and the two special characters "+" and "/". The character set provided by Base64 is represented by 7 bits. This ASCII subset is included in many other character sets.
