CECED home appliances interoperating network (CHAIN)

CHAIN is a protocol defined by CECED for the networking of household appliances.

This communication protocol is used for data exchange for networked white goods household appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, hotplates, washing machines, dishwashers, etc. CHAIN uses the IP protocol for communication and can control and monitor a wide variety of appliance functions. In addition to energy management, CHAIN can be used for remote diagnostics, fault detection and remote control of home appliances via the Internet.

The CHAIN standard is supported by many well-known manufacturers of household appliances.
