DCT format

The name of this digital recording format is derived from the data compression method used, the Discrete Cosine Transformation ( DCT), which achieves a halving of the data volume. DCT has 19 mm tapes, a track width of 35 µm and a storage capacity of up to 1.73 Tbit. The component video is recorded in two channels, the digitization rate is 8 bits each.
