DVB satellite service to portable devices (DVB-SSP)

DVB- SSP is a proposal by Alcatel to open up the mass market for mobile TV. It is a combination of terrestrial and satellite television transmission in the S-band and is intended to complement UMTS networks and thus protect these investments. Such a service would allow subscribers to communicate interactively and provide an unlimited number of TV channels.
