EnOcean radio protocol (ERP)

The EnOcean Radio Protocol( ERP) is EnOcean's radio protocol that is optimized for maximum reliability and requires extremely little energy.

The ERP radio protocol works with very short data telegrams whose duration is below 1 ms. They require only a small amount of energy, about 50 µWs, which means that energy-autonomous, battery-free sensors and wireless switches can be used in the EnOcean concept. Due to the short data telegrams, possible collisions are reduced, which contributes to a further improvement in reliability.

The EnOcean Radio Protocol (ERP) determines the structure of the radio telegram, while the transmitted user data in the payload are defined by the EnOcean Equipment Profiles( EEP).
