GSM for authorities and organizations with security tasks

Since authorities and organizations with security tasks( BOS) in Germany were still working with analog transmission technologies years after the introduction of digital mobile communications networks, a service has been developed with GSM-BOS that meets the increased security requirements and enables a smooth transition to other mobile communications networks in areas close to the border: GSM-BOS. This service is equipped with features specific to public authorities, comparable to GSM for Railways( GSM-R) for the railroads.

The specific requirements for the authority services include the reachability of any mobile subscriber in the national area, eavesdropping security, prioritization of calls, network-wide emergency calling, and support for defined groups by means of group calling.
