German communications satellite system
The German Telecommunications Satellite(DFS) is a geostationary communications satellite for long-distance voice and data transmission. The communication range is Europe and North America. The data rates are 64 kbit/s and 1.92 Mbit/s.
DATG's DFS Copernicus satellite system consists of two satellites positioned at 23.5° and 28° East. The satellites use the frequency range from 10.4 GHz to10.7 GHz and from 12.5 GHz to 12.75 GHz. Another transmission channel is located in the 30/20 GHz range.
