Gnutella protocol
Gnutella is a file sharing protocol used to build anonymous networks on the Internet. This network-within-a-network concept has no central server, but works according to point-to-point transmission.
The Gnutella server is decentralized in the form of many network nodes, which are formed by the computers of the participants and on which storage space is made available. With this open network concept, each Gnutella user can use files from other users. Any file format can be exchanged between two compatible participants via the Gnutella network.
This completely decentralized network, which is made up of a large number of peer-to-peer networks, is primarily used for file exchangefor music.
