ICMP router discovery protocol (IRDP)

The ICMPRouter Discovery Protocol (IRDP) is used by hosts to determine router addresses that could act as gateways.

The IRDP protocol is similar to the ES-IS protocol, End System to Intermediate System Protocol (ES-IS), except that the ICMP Router Discovery Protocol uses the IP protocol. The IRDP protocol was developed by the Internet Engineering Task Force( IETF) and is described in RFC 1256.
