IEEE 802.15.3.c
The IEEE working group802.15 is concerned with the development of a Wireless PersonalArea Network(WPAN). One of the working groups was to develop a wireless home network with data rates >20 Mbit/s as early as 2003. IEEE 802.15.3-2003 was created under this group.
The 802.15.3-2003 standard operated in the ISM band at 2.4 GHz and had data rates of 11, 22, 33, 44 and 55 Mbit/s. Further development of the physical layer for millimeter waves in the 60 GHz band was carried out by the IEEE 802.15.3-2005 working group, which published its standard as IEEE 802.15.3c-2009. The data rate is up to 3 Gbit/s.
802.15.3c-2009 supports various applications. It works with different techniques on the physical layer: single carrier( SC), high speed interface( HSI) and audio/visual( AV). The different techniques have significant architectural differences and use different modulations and multiplexing methods.
