Internet inter-ORB protocol (CORBA) (IIOP)

Internet Inter- ORB Protocol (IIOP) is a protocol for object-related access over the Internet. The IIOP protocol is an open standard for communication between Object Request Brokers (ORB) over IP networks. IIOP is used in the CORBA framework.

The IIOP protocol specifies how GIOP messages are transmitted over an IP network, or the Internet. It is supported by well-known Internet and browser companies and is an alternative to Microsoft's Distributed Component Object Model( DCOM).
