LIT format

The LIT format is a file format for e-books that work with the Microsoft Reader.

The LIT format, in conjunction with the Microsoft Reader, provides a dynamic process that responds to reading behavior. This includes adapting to the reading habits of the individual, supporting devices with different screen sizes, and changing the font size.

The LIT format runs in conjunction with the Microsoft Reader on all PDAs, handhelds, organizers and notebooks. The LIT format provides some security against changes in the content of e-books. For this purpose, the e-book files are encrypted when they are converted to the LIT format.
