NetBIOS extended user interface (NetBEUI)

NetBIOS Extended User Interface (NetBEUI) is a transport protocol in the LAN Manager that is based on the Network Driver Interface Specification( NDIS) and includes the Logical Link Control( LLC) as well as the network layer and the transport layer. NetBEUI was developed by IBM for small networks with less than 20 nodes. Because it was implemented at Layer 2, the protocol is not routable. By encapsulating NetBEUI in TCP/ IP, this limitation is circumvented.

The NetBEUI knows two LLC connection classes.
