PCI, M-module, IP-module (PC-MIP)

PC- MIP is a mezzanine standard for I/O plug-in modules, based on the PCI bus, developed by MEN Mikro Elektronik in cooperation with well-known international companies and standardized by ANSI and VITA.

The PC-MIP concept is based on the PCI bus, with the design being a further development of the PMC module, M modules and IP modules. The module comes in two sizes, single and dual, with dimensions of 46 mm x 99 mm and 91 mm x 99 mm. The size corresponds to that of the IP module and is a compromise between the number of components with which the board can be equipped and the complexity of the functions that can be integrated. Three PC-MIP modules thus fit on carrier boards with 3 height units (3U).

The PC-MIP module can be equipped with relatively flat components on both sides.
