PKZIP compression
PKZIP is a compression program that works with lossless compression. It is shareware from the company PKWare Inc, Wisconsin, with which any file formats can be compressed with a high compression rate.
The creation of a ZIP file is done by adding single text or graphic files, with the same or different file formats. Depending on the file structure, PKZIP compression achieves compression rates of 90% and above.
PKZIP uses a compression method that is similar to the LZW algorithm and is optimized. It runs on several operating systems and on Windows as WinZip. Decompression of ZIP file formats is done using PKUNZIP, which is part of the PKZIP program.
