Pentium rating (PR)

The Pentium rating( PR) is an evaluation benchmark for the computing power ofcentralprocessingunits( CPU) that can be compared with the Pentium in terms of performance.

The Pentium rating is determined in dependence on the clock frequency in a benchmark. The rating is specified as a digit that corresponds to the clock frequency of the adequate Pentium.

For example, if a K5 from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) at 110 MHz clock frequency has the performance of a Pentium clocked at 150 MHz, then the specification for the Pentium rating is K5 PR 150.
