RG-59 cable
The RG-59 cable is a coaxial cable for television and video technology. It has an impedance of75 ohms and an attenuation of 6.0 dB/100 m at 30 MHz, increasing to 13 dB/100 m at 150 MHz and 23 dB/100 m at 450 MHz. The capacitance is 68 pF/m. Due to the relatively high attenuation, it can only be laid over distances of 250 m to 300 m without amplifiers. The line capacitance is 68 pF/m.
The RG-59 cable has a black or green outer jacket with a diameter of 6.15 mm. The inner structure consists of a stranded wire or, in another version, of a 0.6 mm thick wire (RG-59B/U). It is surrounded by a dielectric ofpolyethylene( PE) and the copper-plated or silver-plated braided shield.
There are also versions where the inner conductor is formed by a stranded wire.
The video cable (green) is used in studio technology and semi-professional technology, in video surveillance( CCTV), in cable television and in community antenna systems( MATV). BNC connectors and TNC connectors are used as RF connectors.
