RS-423

The RS423(EIA-423) is a serial interface, which functionally corresponds to V.24, X.21 and X.24, the electrical properties correspond to the recommendations V.10 and X.26.

Compared to the RS422A, the RS423 offers an unbalanced transmission. The data rate is significantly lower than that of RS422, reaching values of 1 kbit/s up to 1,200 m at the same distance and 100 kbit/s at short distances up to 20 m. RS423 is a unidirectional connection for half duplex.

The current of RS423 is 150 mA, the voltages are between +3.6 V and 6 V and between -3.6 V and -6 V. The control signals work with the same logic as those of RS232-C. The connector used is the Sub-D connector in the versions with DB-9, DB-15, DB-25, DB-37, as well as
