Rambus inline memory module (RIMM)
Rambus Inline Memory Modules (RIMM) are memory blocks with Rambus Dynamic RAMs( RDRAM). Such a memory module can be equipped with up to 16 RDRAMs.
These extremely fast memory modules are equipped with cooling plates to compensate for heat development and prevent overheating. Since the Rambus channel must not be interrupted by unoccupied slots, unoccupied memory slots are equipped with so-called CRIMMs.
