VESA display information file (VDIF)

In contrast to the EDID file (Extended Display IdentificationData), the VDIF file is an information file for monitors that contains all relevant performance features and characteristic data. The VDIF file ( VESA Display InformationFile) is used by the Display Data Channel ( DDC) to identify the monitor by the graphics card and supports the automatic recognition of the connected monitors.
