IT infrastructure administration refers to the management of communication or computer systems.

As a centralized, decentralized or distributed facility, the administration provides an overview of all connected users, the available resources, computer performance, storage systems, line capacities and programs, and the current and past activities.

Administration distributes and manages user access rights, classifies user rights and assigns them to applications, connected terminals and user locations. The administration assigns security levels to users, manages their access mechanisms, controls resources and their usage, and logs them in the audit.
