alignment technique
The alignment technique works in three axes and is used to precisely align the two optical fiber ends for the splicing process.
Technique During the alignment process, the ends of the two optical fib ers are brought together as precisely as possible in order to achieve the highest possible light yield via the splice. The precision of the alignment is controlled by a microcomputer, whereby the end faces of the optical fibres are moved in the adjustment axes by a motor. Only when the highest light yield and thus the lowest attenuation is achieved is splicing carried out.
