alternate data stream (NTFS) (ADS)
Alternate Data Stream (ADS) is a feature of the NTFS file system. It contains metadata that can be used to search for specific files by author or title.
ADS technology is supported by all Windows versions.
ADS files are potentially vulnerable to attack because even security-relevant files do not change their character with additional information. For example, an additional title of a file does not change its functionality or size.
