artifical light

Artificial light is light produced by artificial light sources. In contrast, daylight can be generated artificially or by solar radiation.

Artificial light is clearly defined by its color temperature and its XY coordinates in the CIE color space. The color temperature is usually 3,200 Kelvin (K) to 3,400 K. Artificial light has a lower color temperature compared to daylight, which shows up as a slight yellow tint, compared to daylight, which is perceived as bluish. The higher the color temperature, the more artificial light transitions to cool blue tones.

Artificial light can be produced by incandescent lamps, gas discharge lamps, fluorescent lamps or light-emitting diodes.
