audio interchange file format compressed (AIFC)

The AIFC(Audio Interchange File Format Compressed) or AIFFC file format, unlike AIFF, allows uncompressed and compressed audio files to be stored. The file format, developed by Apple, can store files with compression ratios of up to 6:1. The AIFC file format has tags in the header in which various information can be contained.

The extension for an AIFC file is .aifc.
