auto reverse

Auto Reverse is an operating mode of tape drives and cassette recorders in which the direction of tape travel is automatically reversed at the end of the tape. This mode of operation is only useful if recording and playback on the magnetic tape has been done in both directions, which is only possible with the longitudinal track method.
