automatic identification system (Auto-ID)

Identification systems are used equally in merchandise management and monetary transactions, in services, procurement, production and distribution. There is hardly an area that does not take advantage of manual or automatic identification systems (Auto- ID).

Auto-ID systems facilitate registration, procurement and warehousing and capture important data for management.

We are talking about markers with which products, goods and merchandise, animals and people can be identified. The best known representatives of identification tools are barcodes and 2D codes. But RFID tags and systems for optical character recognition, smart cards, memory cards and biometric methods such as fingerprint or voice recognition are also worth mentioning in this context.
