balanced mode

The term Balanced Mode is used, among other things, in transmission technology, namely for the organization of a bit- synchronous transmission, in which the connected stations have the same rights and obligations.

In the balanced mode, the respective transmitting station (master station) organizes the transmission with commands in the case of transmission and requires the remote station, the slave station, to receive the data and confirm it with messages. In the case of opposite transmission, the command powers are reversed. The balanced mode is implemented as LAP-B protocol in the X.25 standard.
