barium titanate (BaTiO3)

Barium titanate (BaTiO3) is obtained from barium carbonate (BaCO3) and titanium dioxide(TiO2).

Barium titanate belongs to the group of electroceramics. It has ferroelectric properties with field strength-dependent relative permittivity and is used inPTCs, piezoelectric elements, ceramic capacitors and FRAMs, among other applications. The material has a pronounced hysteresis.
