base station color code (BCC)

The Base StationColor Code (BCC) is used in GSM networks to identify radio cells of the same network operator for differentiation, namely when they transmit the Broadcast Control Channel ( BCCH) over the same frequency. In Germany, the identification range is between 0 and 7. Together with the National Color Code ( NCC), the BCC code forms the Base Station Identity Code ( BSIC).
