blu-ray disc Java (BD-J)

Blu Ray Disc Java( BD-J) is application programming that allows content providers to implement interactive applications on Blu Ray (BD) discs. These can be such interactive functions that help the end user to select music tracks, videos, graphics or texts. In order for the end user to be able to use the menus and their function controls, interactive games and movies, etc., BD-J is installed on all shipped Blu-ray disc drives.

The BD-J Java is based on the Personal Basis Profile (PBP) of Java ME, formerly J2ME, the Multimedia Home Platform( MHP) and the Globally Executable MHP( GEM).
