cable core

The cable core is the inner conductor of a coaxial cable. The cable core or inner conductor is a single wire made of copper or silver-plated copper with a diameter of a few tenths of a millimeter to the millimeter range. In the case of flexible cables, such as connecting cables or patch cables, the inner conductor consists of a stranded wire, i.e. a tight braiding of very fine wires.
