call intrusion (ISDN) (CI)

Call intrusion( CI) is one of many features of digital private branch exchanges. This feature, as well as many others, is described in the ITUH.450standards.

With the Call Intrusion feature, a third party can join and participate in an existing call. As soon as the intrusion function is triggered, this is indicated to the existing call participants by the intrusion tone or ringing tone. The connected party can then listen in on the call. Overplugging is used in call centers, for example, to control the call agents' conduct of the call.

The overplugging tone has a frequency of 425 Hz and a cycle with a tone length (T) and pause length (P) of 240 ms (T) - 240 ms (P) - 240 ms (T) - 1,280 ms (P).
