campus distributor (wiring) (CD)
The site distributor (SV), also known as the main distributor(HV) or campus distributor( CD), forms the node of a structured cabling system between the primary cabling and the secondary cabling. Starting from this distribution point, the building distributors(GV) are connected via the primary cabling.
Since optical fiber is primarily used in these areas, the site distribution cabinet contains a large number of splice boxes and the associated cables. The cables usually go in a star configuration from the site distributor to the premises cabling.
