capacity on demand (CoD)

Capacity-on-demand (CoD) is about providing transmission capacity on demand.

CoD solutions work with flexible adaptation ofbandwidth to changes in demand for streaming, live streaming, video conferencing, downloads, video-on-demand( VoD) and other capacity-intensive services, comparable to bandwidth-on-demand( BoD). Rigid network structures with fixed allocated transmission rates cannot meet the demands of changing data volumes.

Network structures should not be oriented to the worst case or provide flexibility in transmission capacities through planned overcapacities, but rather provide for the flexibilization of the network topology and its components and view networks as intelligent platforms whose transmission capacity can be adapted in real time to the transmission needs of end users.
