card holder verification (smartcard) (CHV)

The Card Holder Verification (CHV) feature identifies the authentication of the owner of a smartcard or SIM card. This is usually the personal identification number( PIN) that is entered for authentication. Card Holder Verification is thus used exclusively for card security.
