carrier to interference plus noise ratio (CINR)
The quality of the signal at the receiver input of a satellite receiver is determined by three ratios: Carrier to Noise Ratio( CNR), Carrier to Inter ference Ratio( CIR) and the ratio of the carrier signal to the sum of interference and noise, Carrier to Interference plus Noise Ratio (CINR).
Cas CINR ratio is measured at a specific bandwidth. Usually at the bandwidth of the modulated carrier signal. It is expressed in decibels( dB). The higher the ratio, the better the quality of the received signal. This CINR ratio provides information on which locations or sectors may experience excess interference. Pending interference problems can be eliminated by an adapted design.
