cave automatic virtual environment (CAVE)

CAVE (Cave Automatic Virtual Environment) is a three-dimensional virtual space in which the viewer can move freely. In this space, the walls, floors and ceilings consist of projection surfaces.

In a Cave, the viewer can move and control his movements using a joystick or data glove. He sees via VR goggles or a head-up display( HUD) how he moves in the three-dimensional virtual world.

All virtual movement is monitored by sensors located in space that take into account the viewer's position, viewing angle and perspective. The viewer can look at individual objects or images from all sides. This allows devices or systems to be viewed in detail prior to market launch. Other areas of application include flight simulation, computer games and the modeling of organs in medical technology.
