cell global identity (mobil network) (CGI)
The Cell Global Identity(CGI) is a radio cell identifier that uniquely identifies the radio cell in cellular mobile communications systems.
The CGI number is composed of the Location Area Identity( LAI) and the Cell Identity( CI). The CGI number is transmitted via the Broadcast Control Channel( BCCH) and stored in the mobile station.
Radio cell identification uniquely identifies the radio cell and its location. Mobile subscribers who register in a radio cell store the CGI identification, which can be used to locate and track mobile subscribers.
