cell transfer delay (ATM) (CTD)

Cell Transfer Delay (CTD) is an ATM performance parameter that specifies the average transit delay time of an ATM cell during transport through an ATM network.

The CTD delay is the time required for an ATM cell to travel from the data source to the data sink via a Virtual Channel( VC). The cell delay is made up of the individual delay times in the exchanges, the transmission media and the buffers.
