Cermet is a neologism from Ceramics and Metals. Cermet is a metallic dielectric sintered from ceramics, glass and high quality metal particles at high temperatures.

Cermet has the properties of two different materials: the hardness, chemical and thermal stability of ceramics, combined with the ductility and impact resistance of metal. It has excellent temperature properties, low temperature-dependent expansion and is heat resistant.
