chip carrier (package) (CC)
Chip carriers(CC) are rectangular chip packages with connection contacts on all four package sides.
The connection contacts can be embedded in the package as metallic contact surfaces as in the Leadless Ceramic Chip Carrier( LCCC), they can be contact dimples as in the Bump Chip Carrier( BCC) or they can be connection wires bent in a J-shape under the package as in the Plastic Leaded Chip Carrier( PLCC). Chip carrier packages can be made of plastic or ceramic and soldered onto the board using SMT technology or plugged into a socket.
