circuit emulation services over Ethernet (CESoE)

Circuit Emulation Services over Ethernet (CESoE) is a building block of the framework developed by the Metro Ethernet Forum( MEF) for an urban network based on 10 Gigabit Ethernet( 10GbE).

Circuit Emulation Services over Ethernet (CESoE) is a services framework that defines Ethernet services, but also SDH/Sonet services that are transferred into a language and form that is understandable by Ethernet. CESoE translates the Constant Bit Rate( CBR) used in voice communications into the Variable Bit Rate( VBR) of the Ethernet-based city network. To this end, CESoE must control latency, avoid packet loss, and adapt the endpoints of the CBR link to the variable bit rate.
