clock synchronous RAM (CSRAM)
Clock-synchronous RAMs (CSRAM) are memory chips that are used in caches of central processing units. The synchronicity of this semiconductor memory refers to the first access of a burst, this is synchronized by the clock cycle from the processor. After that, the CSRAM controls itself. The advantage of this technology is the high clock frequency and the short access times.
CSRAMs are used, for example, in Intel's Xeon as a level 2 cache.
