Color Super Twisted Nematic (CSTN) is a liquid crystal technology developed by Sharp for color displays.
CSTN technology allows color displays with a color depth of 16 bits, corresponding to 65,536 colors. This technology achieves luminances of over 350 cd/m2 and contrast ratios of maximum 1:50.

A disadvantage is the relatively slow response time, which is between 200 ms and 300 ms and leads to slight distortions in fast moving images. In addition, the viewing angle is very limited.
